The office of Servant-Leadership is looking for students who are
interested in participating in the Make a Difference Day event. Laura
Schumacher (Schumacher at msoe.edu) is leading the initiative. We have a
half-dozen students who are already signed up to participate. If you
want to join in, shoot Laura an email.

 Make A Difference Day - Saturday, November 6th

I know summer is not over; however, we must begin to think about helping
the seniors this fall.  This is the perfect opportunity for you and your
family, neighbors, friends, church group or company team to assist older
adults in preparing for the winter months by raking leaves, cleaning
windows, clearing gardens, putting up storm windows and other small
projects.  

All it takes is 2-4 hours of your time.  In partnership with Interfaith
Older Adult Programs, this is the 20th year - we will recruit 1,000
volunteers to assist over 300 older adults.  

The event begins at 8:00 a.m. with an optional welcome breakfast at
Washington Park Senior Center (4420 W. Vliet Street).  We hope the work
can be completed between 9 am and 1 pm, and this can be flexible with
advanced notice.

Deadline to register is Monday, October 18th (see attached form). Thank
