[VOL] Troop Message #1 - From a Soldier in Iraq

 MESSAGE TO THE MSOE COMMUNITY 
FROM OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ and/or AFGHANISTAN 
 

As you are aware, we send care packages to troops in Iraq and
Afghanistan. The names of these troops are provided by students, staff,
faculty and alumni. As we hear back from these soldiers, we will forward
to the MSOE community their messages. Thanks for your support of our
troops. We hope you will keep all our troops in your thoughts until the
day they safely return.

MSOE Students, Staff, Faculty & Community,

 

I wanted to say thank you again for the package you have sent me. Please
thank all those that donated items as well. My last deployment here I
also received packages from MSOE so I really appreciate what you and
your staff have done for me. It is nice to know that people still care
about us over here. As for me personally; it is now month 10 for me and
I still have 5 left. When I went home on R & R in March I didn't know
until I returned here that we had been extended an additional 3 months.
It was kind of a shock but I also kind of expected it. The hardest part
is being away from my family. So when I return I will have about a year
home then most likely be shipped off back here again or Afghanistan.
