ASME -- American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

About ASME
English (USA)

Get involved with an organization that promotes the union between you and industry. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers helps you to develop an understanding of engineering that no classroom can give. It also develops invaluable networking not only in industry, but also among fellow Mechanical Engineering students and professors. ASME has a student chapter at MSOE that provides an introduction to a professional society that will continue to support its members throughout their career. Design competitions are often the focus of meetings, offering students an opportunity to apply classroom skills and have a good time.

The MSOE chapter prides itself on being one of the more active professional organizations on campus. In a single quarter members have the opportunity to participate in several design competitions and a variety of industrial tours. ASME members are able to attend a nationally renowned engineering conference where it is easy to begin making useful career contacts.
